Recently there has been much discussion of the need for a “race to the top” for education systems. For more than 20 years, the Baldrige National Quality Program (BNQP) has provided a framework for organizations looking to achieve top-level performance rather than settling for meeting minimum requirements. In this session, participants will receive practical “how-to” strategies for utilizing some of BNQP’s key products including the Education Criteria for Performance Excellence, the Baldrige application, and the Are We Making Progress questionnaire. Whether your school or system is interested in using the criteria to complete a full award application that documents your improvement efforts, or looking to use them as a guide to more specific problem solving and innovation, BNQP’s framework can serve as an effective starting point.
