Presentation

Continuous Quality Journey

Presenter: Dan Lukich

This presentation will focus on three distinct stages in Community Consolidated School District 15’s continuous quality journey: the quality journey, facing the brutal facts, and greatness to last.
The presentation begins with an overview of state and national recognition and finishes with winning the Baldrige Award. Lukich will also briefly discuss the processes that CCSD15 employed to align, deploy, and implement the Baldrige criteria leading to the award.

Since winning the Baldrige, the district has faced the brutal facts—including internal and external organizational challenges.  Lukich will present the processes and quality tools that have been sustained and part of the daily routine in the classrooms and system.

Finally, Lukich will discuss the future and redefining the concept of greatness in a district that is vastly different than it was in 2003. As they look to the future, they are creating targeted staff development and learning opportunities for staff to support the goal of meeting state and national student achievement targets and producing 21st century learners ready to compete in a global society. In addition, they are concentrating on building capacity and developing plans for sustainability of processes drawing on what they have learned from the Baldrige process. Lukich will share the results of the district’s recently completed demographic study and architect facility audit, which provided the district with a direction for future initiatives and planning.
