All finalists are winners! There will be two levels of recognition and two awards of excellence. All finalists receive recognition or an award. We eliminated the competition aspect, and aligned our program to recognize or award each team according to their performance based on the ETER criteria.
What is the Education Team Excellence Recognition (ETER) Award?
ETER recognizes teams who are improving educational outcomes, stakeholder involvement and school quality
- It’s a premier showcase for recognizing and awarding outstanding educational teams
- It’s a national stage for sharing your innovative solutions and best practices
- It’s an opportunity to extend your personal and organizational knowledge
- It’s an inspiring celebration that rewards your organization’s commitment to continuous improvement

Who can apply?
Any education “organization” or group of individuals committed to continuous improvement within an educational setting are encouraged to apply
“Organization” encompasses a wide variety of educational service units including, but not limited to: school districts, universities, trade schools, day care centers, community colleges, individual buildings/schools, grade–level teams, departments, and individual classrooms.

- See how do you measure up? Align your process to ASQ’s Award Criteria and see how your team practices / results measure up to the ETER criteria.
- Share and Compare. Showcase your best practices and target your current efforts to Make Good Great® in your district.
- Receive a Quality Feedback Report based on proven criteria that is specific, timely and applicable to inspire your professional learning.

How do I participate?
Simply complete the intent to submit form at ETER Intent to Submit and follow the submission timeline below.
ETER Timeline (Subject to Change)
March 15, 2012: Complete ETER Intent to Submit.
Create a PowerPoint presentation that describes your completed project and ensure that it is aligned with ASQ’s Team Excellence criteria. PowerPoint file size should not exceed 5 MB, and should include speaker notes for each slide. Speaker notes must be able to be read aloud within a 30-minute time period. See how past winners aligned their presentations to the award criteria. Please also refer to the guidelines and frequently asked questionsJune 15, 2012: Complete ETER team entry form and upload PPT file, team photo, and company logo.
June/July 2012: Preliminary round of judging.
August 15, 2012: Teams receive feedback report and are notified of selection for final round at National Quality Education Conference in Louisville, KY.
November 11–12 2012: FINAL ROUND: Live presentations at National Quality Education Conference in Louisville, KY.
